Limpkin hunting for Snails

Limpkin visit Nebraska. This was a first not only for myself but also for our state of Nebraska. It was an unbelievable find to view this unique bird. I'd heard from a local photographer that a Limpkin had been discovered. I went to the wetlands to see the bird but it was not close enough to photograph. Of course, I went out again, and by the third time, I was able to observe the Limpkin up close. This is when I sat near to the water behind some tall grass, watching it stir the water and hunt for snails. I am always amazed by our wildlife and how it adapts to the environment even though this Limpkin was far from home.
