Lincoln Log Cabin in Lerna, Coles Co., IL
This accurate reproduction of the Lincolns' two-room log cabin was the 19th century home of Thomas and Sarah Bush Lincoln, father and step-mother of our 16th president. It's located on 86-acre historic site 8 miles south of Charleston, IL. Although Abraham Lincoln had begun his career as a lawyer in Springfield, during the 1840s he would visit them here frequently.
