Lingering Glow
In early March, it was the end of the Spring Festival season. In the villages of southern China, the festival is always lively, and nothing symbolizes that joy more than the lanterns. When lit at night, they fill every household with laughter and warmth. Now, though the lantern still hangs from the tree, it has been resting there for days. Perhaps it is waiting for the next celebration — to once again shine with its festive glow.
