In 2015, I visited a small village in Colombia where I stayed at a ramshackle hostel for a night. In the morning, I wandered around the hostel property taking pictures. This little girl was swimming in the pool and, though she spoke Spanish and we couldn't communicate, we managed to figure out that she wanted me to countdown, "One, two, three!" for her to jump in the pool.
