Log rafts from the north of DRC
I live in an area of Kinshasa that is surrounded by the Congo River on three sides. I have the privilege of witnessing life on the water as few people Western people. Taking photos is my way of capturing, recording, and sharing photos is my way of honoring a culture and the people. People who live in the northern part of DRC cut trees and create log rafts which they ride down the river to Kinshasa. Small thatched shelters are built on the rafts. Floating villages are created.
