Silver Lining

This is the first image of - Silver Lining, a series of images following the Meals-on Wheels, which is a meal delivery programme to meet the daily needs of the home-bound elderly. The elderly, who usually live alone, depend on volunteers from this TOUCH Home Care programme to deliver their meals every day. This project is the product of my love for heart share marketing, documentary photography and community service. Through this narrative, I try to bring to light this programme and its volunteers who strive to enable the frail elderly to continue to function within the community with the greatest independence and quality of life. In terms of aesthetics, my photographs do not involve surrealism or fantasy, instead use the look and feel of slice of life documentary images to convey a simple message. They pay tribute to the numerous volunteers who take time to make Singapore a more inclusive place for the silver generation. Through this project, I hope to inspire my audience to step up and participate, to the same extent as my involvement in it.
