Love of King Fisher

This variety of kingfisher is a little larger than a sparrow. It is a little blue and green kingfisher with deep rust-colored under parts, short stumpy tail and long straight pointed bill. The story behind the picture is that it is a practice amongst the kingfisher to bribe the females with fish before mating. This picture was taken by me above a pond near my residence at Midnapur.
