Lunar Landscape of the Bisti Wilderness Area

The Bisti is an ancient landscape with unusual geologic formations made up of sandstone, shale, coal, and silt. There are hoodoos and pedestals, spires and rock columns, fossils, and petrified logs scattered across this stark lunar-like badlands. Set in the four corners area of New Mexico few travelers find their way to this out-of-the-way place.
