This father mountain blue bird was bringing lunch back to his young. He landed right in front of me, and then cautiously hopped across the lava down into a tiny hole-shaped crevice where you could hear his babies chirping. His nest was inside the lava rock! A personal note -- my now-fiance proposed just moments later!
