Maasai Boys Becoming Warrior Men
Teenage Maasai with painted faces following the "emoratta" circumcision ceremony. It is a right-of-passage ceremony which raises a young man to become a member of the warrior class. As part of the ceremony, they paint their faces with white paint and dress in dark robes.
