Maasai women near Arusha
When we visited Arusha National Park, we stayed at a lodge set up by a charity, Africa Amini Alama, which the founder, Christine Wallner, translates as "Africa, I believe in you". The lodge is run by the local Maasai tribal people, who greeted us with songs when we arrived. They have used the profits from the lodge to set up and maintain several hospitals and schools that are run by locals.
