Madonna of The Trail is a monument of 12 statues along the National Road linked along U.S. 40 from Cumberland, Md to Upland, Ca. This is the ninth link which is in Richmond, In., commemorating the pioneer mothers of the covered wagon days. It was erected by The Daughters of The American Revolution in 1929.
