Magnolia flower in Huntington Gardens

My family and I were visiting the Huntington Gardens in Pasadena, focusing mainly on the roses. On our way out, my husband pointed to a Magnolia tree that had a lone blossom. Because the branch it was on was at my eye level, I ran over and put my iPhone practically inside the flower to take a look at the interior structure, and I was able to zoom in on the gorgeous pistil and stamen within. It brought me back to high school biology!
