21st Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience
Mail Delivery

This image is simple as it appears with much love. I would turn on the light in the window to let my aunt know she has mail who lived a block behind me. During Covid-19 my aunt who has breast cancer metastasized to her lungs was quarantined for almost a year or better in the fear of Covid interacting with her diagnosis. I would always deliver the mail, but this light meant much more than delivery was coming soon. It meant we were together.
