The photograph is of an adult brown bear in Katmai National park. In this photo I have tried to capture the moment the bear turned around and looked towards me - looking straight into its eye. This adult brown bear was sitting behind thick forest bush not far from a hiking trail. Due to the thick forest growth, I did not know there was a bear lurking around until I stumbled upon it in close quarters.
