Malachite Butterfly

The Malachite is a butterfly named for the mineral bright green color. It has large wings in black and green colors on the upper side with light brown and olive green on the under side. It is found throughout Central and North South America, being one of the most common butterfly species, and also can be seen in the southern part of Texas, South Florida, and Cuba.
