The male Northern cardinal was resting on a crab apple tree branch in our backyard close to noon on a snowy day and he stayed long enough for me to shoot two pictures of him through two window panes. During that short sequence he turned his body from one side of the branch to the other. He was patiently waiting for a squirrel to get done eating on the bird feeder which gave me the opportunity to shoot these pictures during the interval. He finally got his turn on the feeder and I make sure they all get enough to eat during this cold spell. I combined the two images in photo shop to make a composite.
