Michigan has much in the way of water birds. This is a Preserve/Sanctuary in West Bloomfield Michigan. It is adjacent to a rails to trails that runs through SE Michigan, which has ponds alongside of the trail. This pond is within the Preserve, where a variety of birds will spend time in, whether Woodpeckers, Geese or this Hooded Merganser. After work, I would head right to this pond on my way home, to see what is available, always excited at the possibilities. He does have a partner, but couldn't get a good shot of both together.
