Male Northern Flicker standing tall

Northern Flickers are among the few woodpecker species that migrate. We were delighted and surprised that a Northern Flicker hung around this past winter and didn't migrate. I have a feeling this could be the same handsome wild bird who returned a few days ago as he seemed relaxed about the surroundings. I shot this picture through the window early evening of 11/9/2023 as he perched briefly on the edge of the bird seed container in our backyard.
