Malewa

A woman tasting food at a "Malewa". "Malewa" is the name for street restaurants in Kinshasa; The word Malewa comes from the Kinshasa language. These restaurants invade the streets and corners of Kinshasa. These are small restaurants often run by women responsible for families. Local dishes are sold there at low prices and they are frequented by young and old Congolese people who often go there during their lunch break.
