Man Captures Nature: Bearing Witness to Disaster

This was the first day of the Pacific Palisade fire as seen from a Santa Monica Beach. The smoke billowed across the sky, the forceful wind pelted spectators with sand. We were all like zombies, speechless, but documenting what we had yet to understand. Only seven days into a new year, and the world didn't make sense. How could this be happening?
