This photo plunges me into nostalgia. In wildlife photography, the atmosphere is woven around the context. Mandebvu, the majestic female of a pair of elephants from the Imire reserve in Zimbabwe, was at the heart of our ritual. Each time I raised my arm to wish her a good day, she responded with her trunk, a knowing gesture that illuminated our exchanges, a silent but harmonious dialogue.
