Mantis Fly Emerges

Mantis flies are one of the strangest and most alien looking creatures on earth. They are predatory feeders and wait on vegetation for unsuspecting prey, where they use their raptorial forelegs to capture food. This mantis fly has just emerged from its larval state, with the shell of its previous form seen just bellow it.
