Many Faces of Nature
Many Faces of Nature - Old tree stump at Mason Neck State Park that looks like an old scary face fit for Halloween night. I have always been fascinated by big, beautiful, old, and dead trees. I especially love old stumps, like this one, that appears to have a life, and face, of their own. If only they could talk, what exciting stories would they tell? This one, for instance, I came across while hiking in the woods of Mason Neck State Park in Lorton, VA. It wasn't far from an old campsite where I imagine it was the subject of many a ghost story told around the campfire under a full moon with critters scurrying in the bushes and owls watching from branches above.
