Marie Lakes, John Muir Trail
On our 7-day trip of the 210.4 mile John Muir Trail, we practiced leave no trace principles by not leaving any garbage and packing in/out all food, wrappers and other supplies and camping at least 200 feet from streams/trails. As we ran through the wilderness we saw little, if any, signs that humans were there before - something the original pioneers must have seen. It was amazing to have that immersive wilderness experience for so many days back-to-back.
