Marine iguana shedding skin

Iguanas shed their skin four to twelve times a year. It is a process directly related to growth and hormonal control, since the animal will need a new skin to grow, according to its new size and age. Near their eye you can see their "ear", actually a waterproof tympanic membrane that is located externally and that gives them the ability to pick up sounds very easily.
