Martin, his wife Maria, and their son Beto who live in Colquecancha, Peru, had invited me to their house for breakfast. We had a lovely chat through an interpreter, and I wanted to remember the experience and thank them by taking each person's portrait and giving it to them later. Martin, a very diminutive man, maybe 5'4" at best, had a very strong presence that belied his height. The intensity of his expression, I think, makes this photo.
