This is a portrait of Mary Gardiner at a Miss Subways reunion in 2024. Miss Subways was a bi-monthly title awarded to a woman living or working in New York City between the years 1941 and 1976. Posters of each winner were placed throughout the city’s subway system for a month or two. Mary is holding the poster used from her time as the reigning Miss Subways.
