Masseria

The photo shows a ruined "masseria" (farmhouse) surrounded by palm trees, olive trees and an overgrown garden. The masseria is a group of rural buildings used as homes and animal shelters typical of southern Italy, widespread especially between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
