On a weekend visit to Asheville, NC, my wife and I decided to visit the city's Botanical Gardens, a part of the University of North Carolina. Strolling thru the gardens delightful terrain took me to a plant that was hosting these Red Milkweed Beetles. Unlike most insects (especially butterflies), they seemed oblivious to my presence, so I was able to take 4 or 5 photos at very close range.
