20th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
Maui's Sherwood Forest
Julie explores a forest glen, Maui, Hawaii. I loved the canopy of limbs and leaves above the floor of the forest, but felt it needed a human figure for both scale and drama, so my partner Julie donned a reddish dress and red hat for color contrast.
