Mauna Loa's caldera

In August 2019 I traveled to the Island of Hawai’i, also known as the Big Island, to hike Mauna Loa, one of the volcanoes in the island. The picture shows the other two members of my team already walking in the caldera of the volcano. The picture gives an idea of the tremendous size of the caldera and shows different types of lava as well as a couple of ahu, the stacks of lava rocks that mark the trail.
