May In The Village Of Orlovka

Orlovka is a village in southern Georgia, in Javakheti region, most beautiful to me with its vast landscapes. There live the Doukhobors, a rebel religious group, Christians from Russia, settled in Georgia in the 19th century as they were forced from the emperor. Most of them returned to Russia at the end of the twentieth century, few families remained in Georgia. I lived in Javakheti, Ninotsminda Municipality for a year, worked as special needs teacher in a school and on the other hand, photographed the region's everyday life, where Georgian Muslims and Armenians live next to the Doukhobors. This day was one of the weekends when I was walking in the village of Orlovka and photographing the fresh, windy atmosphere of May, especially beautiful in Javakheti where the winter is strict and long.
