During the World Cup of 2014 (held in Rio De Janeiro) I meandered through Rio's Cantagalo favela with a resident, who amazed me with her built-in GPS system. The alleyways seem to have no ending and yet the painted walls, patriotic bunting and visual splendor of the favela were a mighty interesting distraction.
