Memory photography when living in Washington, DC.

"Buildings In Transition" I spent the last seven years splitting my time living between the Washington, DC metro area and Houston, TX. This would be one of my last days in DC before permanently making my home in Houston. I had mixed emotions about this transition as I was born just across the bridge at Alexandria Hospital and spent my first years in Great Falls, VA. As I looked from the window of a condo we lived in at the time on the corner of 12th and K St, NW, I was moved by the urge to take a memory photograph that would remind me of this moment and what I was feeling. It was a feeling of buildings in transition. The rapid pace of construction was a sign of a growing economy and the transition of a place I may or may not easily recognize in a year. It quickly and distinctly reminded me of the growth I would make in the coming year during my transition from high school to college.
