This merchant in the Sao Joaquim Market of Salvador Brazil looked to be selling cassava root; it is widely used in Brazil to make an assortment of delicious tapioca dishes. The cat caught my eye first because of its penetrating stare. The merchant graciously allowed me to photograph them together.
