directly out front of our cottage on Lake Erie, we saw a merganser duck swimming with 12 baby ducklings on her back. The 12th duckling often fell off her back and paddled furiously and then jumped back on. It was a wonderful sight. We followed this family for several days, now there are 13 babies.
