Meteora UNESCO World Heritage Site, Greece
Meteora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Central Greece. It consists of 24 monasteries built on top of almost inaccessible sandstone peaks in hundreds of meters of height. Some of the monasteries are still inhabited by monks and open to the public to visit.
