17th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Altered Images
Midnight Descent down Mt. Whitney
While camping on my way to the summit of Mt. Whitney I noticed the Milky Way had risen in the East and there was a New Moon - perfect conditions for astrophotography. I set up my camera to capture the stars and the summit and let it run all night.
