Milk Snake being held by human hands.

Reptiles, snakes in particular, are held in fear and revulsion by many humans, passed on from early times to future generations. Joe, of Joe' Reptile rescue, saves many reptiles in need after they are found by other people. Wildlife Rescue organizations also call in Joe after reptile patients are turned in to them. Joe loves all reptile, releasing those who are able back into the wild, while providing a "no kill" shelter to exotics (usually acquired as pets) and locals who can no longer make it on their own. He frequently does presentation for children, their parents and local groups, which includes interaction with his ambassador animals in order to reduce bias against them and incite wonder. Here Joe is holding a Milk Snake which is non-poisonous. Its striped coloration is thought to provide protection by mimicking the very dangerous coral snake which looks similar.
