Milkweed Pods Release Their Seeds
Monarch butterflies favor the common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) in the spring and summer. In late summer/fall, the milkweed plants produce distinct seed pods filled with seeds and floss, a material attached to the seed that allows it to travel on the wind. The floss is both elegant and practical.
