This was my first attempt at photographing the Milky Way. I was told that the best time to photograph the Milky Way in most of the Northern Hemisphere is from February to October when the galactic center is visible. I took a trip to Kanab, Utah as the night sky has very little light noise from cities because you are out in open spaces. We climbed to the top of the mountain, the wind picked up and the temperatures dropped dramatically in minutes. Had to keep my body close to my tripod to keep it from tipping over, which caused shake. Eventually hung my backpack on the tripod to weigh it down. It took many attempts to get successive shots that were not blurred. It took several attempts to get the aperture correct as well.
