I was in the middle of a 16-day river trip through the Grand Canyon when I shot this picture. We were at river mile 73, in an area known as the Furnace Flats. It was incredibly hot, even at 9pm, so sleeping wasn't an attractive option. Instead we all sat outside to admire the night sky.
