Pacu Jawi Minangkabau's Tradition

A jockey controls his cow during the pacu jawi (cow racing) tradition in a muddy rice field, in a village called Pariangan, in the province of West Sumatra, Indonesia. Pacu jawi uses 2 cows (jawi in Minangkabau language) which run on a track of 60 to 250 meters. Each pair of cows runs in turn, while the audience judges the cows (mainly based on their speed and ability to walk straight).
