Miss Nunkui Nua
Fernanda Tzamarendia, 17, poses for a photo in the corn fields next to her home in Sucúa. Winner of the Miss Nunkuinua (woman grower) 2016 award. Miss Nunkuinua is an Ecuadorian Amazonian beauty pageant from the province of Morona Santiago. The myth of Nunkuininua speaks of a girl who has powers to produce food for the Amazonian People as long as the girl is respected, a symbol of the fertility of the land.
