Mission San Juan Capistrano

Mission San Juan Capistrano, completed in the year 1776, is one of the most historic and beautiful of the Spanish missions in California. My photograph is of one of the buildings in the compound, and shows the stone work with brick columns and arches. The mission was built by Native Americans. Spanish Missionaries came to California to convert the indigenous population to Catholicism. More than 300,000 people visit every year.
