Even in 2019 there are many pockets of western NC that appear to have escaped the reach of time. This was once a whistle stop town for the railroad but now most of the buildings and residents are gone other than this man and his guard dog. They spend their days watching the occasional car drive by while sitting in front of an unintentional museum.
