Modern Iran Striding Forward. A group of young, modern Iranian women wearing Western clothes were walking in the park in Esfahan. I loved how natural, happy and almost carefree they looked. Juxtaposed against them were a trio of more conservative Iranian women wearing the traditional full chador, one with a scowl on her face, looking on these attractive, modern women with disapproval and some disdain.
