Momma and her Cubs
While observing brown bears in Alaska, I got extremely lucky to have this mother and her three cubs come out to explore the beach at low tide. I patiently sat along a sand dune as the family made their way towards me. When they were 25 yards away they found a fish carcass that had washed on shore and began to eat it. I slowly made my way over to where they were eating and composed my photos with a clear background behind them. As they were eating, a smaller juvenile bear appeared on the beach and this is the shot I was able to capture, just as the whole family lifted their heads to check out who was coming.
