A glorious Monarch snoozing on an orange Cosmos. Each summer, I get so excited when I know it is time for the Monarchs to arrive. I spend most of each day on my porch, watching and waiting for them. When I saw this beauty, I got my cell phone and followed it around until it came to rest on one of my orange Cosmos flowers. It seemed as if it were resting. So, I was able to get what I consider a great closeup, showing all the delicate details of its proboscis.
